International honours for former Halbro NW Colts League Player...

Dan Kelly, a product of the Rochdale RUFC Mini, Junior and Colts set-up and a member of the 2017/18 Rochdale U17’s league winning team in the Halbro NW Colts league, has been selected for the Ireland U20's team in the first 3 games of this season’s Six Nations U20's Championship.

Dan played for and captained the Kirkham GS 1st XV last season and also represented Lancashire and The North at U18. He will be eligible for the Ireland U20's team next season as he is still U19.

Dan currently plays his rugby for Loughborough University where he is studying for a degree.

In his first game vs Wales U20’s he set up the 1st try and in the second game vs Scotland U20’s he scored the 2nd try. He then played vs England at Franklin Gardens, Northampton, where his defensive work was complimented by the commentators.

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus restrictions the final 2 fixtures vs Italy and France have not been played.

Our best wishes to Dan for his successes thus far, and for his future involvement in the Ireland U20 squad and maybe even further....

Please read this article, written before the England game, that talks of Dan’s progress with the Ireland set-up.
