SOS KIT AID FOCUSING ON RUGBY...
The award winning SOS Kit Aid programme, which recycles used and new rugby kit to grassroots rugby at home and in 26 countries worldwide, is returning to its rugby roots and seeking new sponsors in 2015.
Supported and endorsed by World Rugby and the four home unions, SOS Kit Aid has recycled £5 million pounds of kit for over 200,000 disadvantaged youngsters in the past 13 years. Without SOS over 200 tonnes of valuable rugby kit would be rotting in environmentally damaging UK landfill sites. By recycling SOS has also saved over 100 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
SOS Kit Aid has had a major effect on the growth of rugby in Eastern Europe, especially Romania, Georgia, Lithuania, and in Africa and the South Seas and has won six community and environmental awards. Irmantas Kukulskis of the Lithuania Rugby Federation said, “SOS has made a huge contribution to the development of Lithuanian rugby. SOS is very important to our strategic development in the future”.
SOS has also supplied kit to inner city projects in the UK. Darren Bernatovich, Head Teacher at Addington High School in Croydon said “SOS kit had a huge impact on our pupils. It has made them feel part of a team and got them involved in sports they haven’t had access to before.” The past year alone saw SOS Kit Aid deliver quality rugby kit for 20,000 disadvantaged youngsters and, with the Rugby World Cup coming to England, SOS is returning to its
roots, ending its cricket/rugby joint venture and collecting rugby kit only in future. At the same time it is seeking new sponsors to expand its activities in helping the 60 UK projects and disadvantaged countries on the waiting list.
SOS sponsorship suits companies seeking a Corporate Social Responsibility programme that helps disadvantaged youngsters at home and abroad, brings employee engagement opportunities through collecting and packing kit, and improves the environmental profile and carbon footprint.
SOS has a selection of partnership schemes. So whether your School, University or Club is looking to donate kit or your Business wants to discover more about partnership opportunities please visit www.soskitaid.com
