HALF GAME RULE Becomes a Regulation...

The RFU has confirmed the HALF GAME RULE, introduced on a voluntary basis in 2018/2019, is now a Mandatory Regulation in Age-Grade Rugby across Schools, Clubs, and Colleges for Next Season (September 2019).

The Rule, applicable to players aged six to 18, will ensure all players in a match day squad will get to play at least half a game.

All Coaches involved in the Age-Grade game are encouraged to ensure they follow the Regulation and work collaboratively with opposition coaches, match officials, and parents to implement the Rule and to also ensure their training and games meet the needs of the players.

In Colts League Rugby:
It will be the responsitibility of Managers and Coaches (not the Referee) to ensure this Regulation is properly applied to the benefit of all Players.
