Jon,

Can i take this opportunity to thank you and Steve Mooney for your help on Sunday - your advice was much appreciated.

I am writing in particular to register the co-operation and fairness of the Southport Junior Colts Coach. As you know we suffered 3 front row cry offs within 48 hours of the game, and in line with the rules we could have been forced to play with No Replacements.

On having a very reasonable discussion with the Southport Coach he was happy for me to have the same number of replacements as himself.  This was a very amicable sporting arrangement between the two Clubs.

In the end Northwich we defeated by a Southport side who were faster fitter and showed more desire than ourselves.  Incidentally it was very well Refereed.  In the end common sense prevailed and Colts Rugby was yet again the winner.

Once again many thanks.

Phil.

Editors Note :~
Our thanks to Phil Clarke of Northwich for letting us know this little anecdote, and also thanks to Martin Bailey and Southport Colts for their sporting gesture - truly in the spirit of Colts Rugby.

The Regulations are there to protect the innocent from the insidious, however at the end of the day common sense must prevail at all times so the Players can Play Rugby !!
